This past week i have let the creative juices

flow, i decided to pull out my sewing machine.

Sewing is one of those things that when projects actually

turn out, i get all excited

and start sewing more.

My Kitchen table has become a craft Table,

with my sewing machine, fabric and loose thread all over it.

Also my ironing board has taken up residence in my dining room,

not to sure if it will ever leave.

Here are some of what i made this week.

Took old worn out pair of flats and transformed them into THIS…..

I discovered ‘Mod Podge’ this week,

how i have lived my life up until this point without ever knowing about it

is short of a miracle.

I took some brown corduroy material and ‘podged’ it onto these flats. then

hot glued buttons on the toe.

a couple things…

1. the cord material is a little rough, probably will have to wear low socks with them.

2. this was only my second project using the ‘podge’ i am sure i

will get better at it.

Cute Tool-belt for Ian

now he has a handy dandy bag to carry all the

items a little boy needs to carry around.

all in a convenient, hands free cooler than a fanny pack tool-belt

Mod Podge attempt #2

When my sewing WALL is complete i will have a shelve above my sewing table

that will be the home of this and a few other boxes.

ready and willing to hold various items

Its actually quite sturdy for being made out of cardboard and hot glue.

Grocery Tote

This was my first attempt, turned out lovely,

there are a few things i would change.

using canvas instead.

For this one, i used the heaviest material i had, but still

canvas would be so much better.

I wanted to make Adia a tote for school, instead

of a backpack, so i wanted to try my hand out making one.

with what ever i had on hand.

Even though its not very heavy, its sturdy and strong

enough for groceries. Already tried it out.

Keep a watch out for even more crafty ideas,

I’m full of them.

There is something about the baby of a family
They occupy a special place in a Mothers Heart....
This 'baby' is no exception.
He amazes me, confounds me, irritates me, makes me smile, makes me laugh,
& brings me more joy than i ever thought a child could.

For only being FOUR years old i think he is an amazing artist...
I am so happy that i get to spend another school year with him at home,
I will be so sad when he has to go to kindergarten.

Sorry its been awhile since i wrote.
I can;t believe a week has gone by, since we went
to the concert in Vegas.
July 3rd R and I saw
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero's/
If you have not heard of this band, drop what
you are doing, get in your car and drive to
your nearing hastings or barnes and noble and
purchase their c.d...
I promise, you will not regret it.

It was pretty much a life altering experience for me,
the energy in the room was over the top.
When they come back through this way, i will
be first in line for tickets.

The week has been pretty laid back,
we had the discipleship program for the youth at
our house Wednesday, i made Taco's for 20 people,
they were pretty much amazing.
Today we had Breakfast Club and i made Eggs and Waffles
for about 15 people, *thanks to my sis for all the eggs
i think i used about 5 dozen today...*

Went on a walk with the chill-ins and 2 of the dogs,
it was quite nice, could have done with out the reminding the boys
to walk next to the curb every 2 secs. then needing to go into
detail what would happen if a car hit them, sometimes i
think if i scare them enough it will make them listen better.
hmph, not sure if its working or not.
I think tomorrow night just me and 1 of the dogs shall go.
( Penny is wiped out...she literally took a drink
of water, laid down and now looks like a saggy faced dead dog.
Have i told you lately how much i love that dog?
Well i do....

Today marks a day in history, my one and only
Daughter baked for the first time.
She has helped me in the past, cracked her
share of eggs into a mixing bowl.
But this time, she did it all save, for
turn the oven on, and place the muffin tins
inside the oven. I told her she could, but she
responded that 'she didnt trust herself'
she cracks me up!


From start to finish, she did it all on her own.
This marks the start of a glorious era for me as her Mother.
It starts with box cupcake mix, and ends up
her making dinner for our family.
Yes i know thats a tad bit in the future, she is only 7
but i am one who likes to look ahead.

She hardly even spilled a drop...she must not get her baking skills from me. 

Im so very proud of her, and i look forward to many more fun fetti cupcakes!

Today i have been busy re-arranging my plants,
moving some into bigger containers.




Good thing, these roots are desperate
for some new soil


This dear sweet thang, has
had a rough life, I brought it home
from Oklahoma. (one of the center pieces)
She was doing quite nicely till
Peter and Benjamin bunny decided
to have a morning snack.



Maybe i should consider doing this
outdoors, my kitchen suffered from it.
I wont even show you what my sink looked like
after i got through.


All my pretties lined up....


Grapefruit moved to bigger containers
Oregano and Parsley planted
All in all a satisfying day

Never knowing how the the

creativity will pour forth

i willingly let it flow

My home is patched and sewn

with love, my trees

are corduroy, 

My flowers gingham

My stars mingle with the sun.

I have begun to feel the same desires and convictions
as my husband.
This city, Dear Lake Havasu City AZ.
YOU are MINE.
God has placed me here for a reason, and i am going
to fulfill it.
No more whining that i want to live somewhere else.
I will be content with where I am, no matter what.

No more saying IF only i lived somewhere like Nebraska
i could have a garden.
Enough, I've had it.
Now is the time, yes it will be harder,
but gosh darn-it i will have a garden, and one that
produces large quantities of bounty.
Growing things makes me happy, fills my heart
with laughter.
My heart has been empty far to long.

My heart leaps at the smells and textures
of my garden. This is my year, the start
of my world in between worlds.

Thank you God for the love that you have
placed in my heart for my city, I will
see it won for you. I will see people
hungry for your presence, seeking your face
and falling in love with my savior whose
grace is never failing
