Is My Shampoo making me go bald???
I found this article in a local magazine that was in my mailbox the other day and found the information to be quite intriguing.
AS Follows ” Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is the ingredient in shampoo that has been singled out as the offending culprit. If you use shampoo then you’re drenching your head in SLS – its found in over 95% of commercial shampoos. SLS is a potent de-greaser, acting as a surfactant, binding to the dirt and gunk on your hair, the grime is dragged down the plug hole by the SLS. SLS takes no prisoners, dirt is zapped away and your hair is left bright and bouncy. Yet even after rinsing SLS residue may have taken camp in and on your scalp. Exposure itself may be enough to cause problems. SLS is also commonly found in detergents used for cleaning garage floors and engines. One grunge theory warns we are laid bare to the effects of SLS just after a follicle has shed its hair. That those empty and open follicles die when exposed to the acidic nature of SLS for long enough, or in enough quantity. As part of the normal hair cycle the average person sheds over one hundred hairs every day. that’s ample opportunity to expose empty follicles to an SLS attack. If you end up with a hand full of hair in the shower….try a natural shampoo for 3 months and see if you can tell a difference.”Now in theory some of the facts in here are not proven, BUT how many of us pull out hand fulls of hair every day in the shower? I know for sure i do, and its definitely more than 100 hairs…that’s just in the shower, not to mention all through the day my hair is falling out.
It doesn’t seem like my hair is getting any thinner, but i am not getting any younger and i am sure over time this could not be a good thing for my luscious locks.
I am going to take the natural shampoo challenge…there is a shampoo i used when i was 18 – 19 that i loved, its made by ‘Natures Gate’ i know you can buy it at the New Bashes but is pretty pricey…i did find it on Vitacost.com for a much lower price, so as soon as the budget allows i will be buying a truck load.
Happy Shampooing everyone
A Part Of My History
born: October 1880
married: Aaron w. Johnson
children: Gertrude, Effie bell
died: august 10, 1932 in fort worth, Texas
buried: fort worth, Texas
Georgia Esther was the youngest of four children. She had two sisters, Aurora and Grace, and one brother, John C. Her great-great grandmother was full-blood Cherokee Indian, she said.
She married Aaron W. Johnson and gave birth to her second daughter, Effie Bell, at age 18. She place both Effie Bell and her older sister, Gertrude, in an orphanage when they were little girls.
She owned a grand hotel in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a business woman who also owned an oil well. Unfortunately, at the time of her death, a lawyer swindled her daughters out of their inheritance, leaving them with a couple hundred dollars.
Her granddaughter, Georgia Maxine, remembers visiting her as a small child. About the age 4. She remembers the beautiful staircase of her hotel and woman with dark, short, bobbed hair and large breasts, brushing her long hair affectionately.
She married and divorced several times. (Seven by some accounts.) She was killed at age 59 by her last husband, Scotty Root, who beat her to death with her own shoe. He was never prosecuted.
Something that i never realized was that i am a smidge Cherokee. Probably not even enough to even count, but still pretty darn cool.
FINALLY
***EDIT***
Disclaimer…the last part was strictly separate, just stating the fact that R. does work hard and i love him
…THANK you to my FAMILY FRIENDS that put up my fence…you guys rock my socks off.
The day has arrived, i hold my breath just in case
No it is true…i know am the proud owner of a fenced yard for my 3 city dogs…poor things
have any of you ever read the children’s book ‘The digging-est Dog?”
This was one of my favorite books as a child…
I look at my poor little pup Rusty, he is nearing on being 2 years old, and he in that whole time has never been able to just run around in the back yard and lay in the sun. I am not even sure if he is a real dog.
But NOW!!! now he has had his bar mitzvah OUTSIDE he will stay where he can run around and play and become one with the dirt.
Don’t worry Penny and Dolly will be there to keep him company.
I will post photos later…we still have some work to do on it to prettify it..i have been having visions on trellises, climbing vines…patio decor..more flowers…and morning cups of coffee on the patio
Thank you so much to my dear husband for all the hard work he does…i am blessed beyond my wildest dreams
if its not one thing its another
I mean that in a good way….
Today i was able to drive out to the lovely lowes and purchase the fence polls and nails
for the long awaited fence for our dogs…jumping for joy!
While there we found posts that were cheeper than the other ones we looked at, so i was able
to pick up a new light for in our dining room…the original one is the nastiest thing
i have ever layed eyes on.
I am pretty much on cloud nine at this point..so after picking up the kids from
school and running some errands which is pure HELL cause they cry and whine
that they want to go home the whole way. we get home, i’m picking up the mail and
my next door neighbour is doing the same and she walks over and asks me
if i wanted vertical blinds….HELLO!!!! yes sirree bob…
they are ones that will fit my sliding glass door and 3 other ones for the bedreooms and bathroom.
MAN isnt GOD good? the blessing are being poured out.
I know this may seem like something small to some of you, but to me…this is huge
Top Dog
In my house there is always the battle of who
Is top notch and dominate…little do they know that they will never
prevail..cause i am top dog in this house.

I see you back there Mom
walking up the dreaded hill….this darn hill about kills me the first few months of school…but
i do have some pretty hot legs from it
Wait for me
She looks so grown up and beautiful
her desk
This is actually a nervous smile…i thought the first day was going
to be rough on her, but in the end all was well
Her teacher ‘Mrs Mersing’ is in the purple dress
And then there was ONE!!!
what ever shall we do? How will we cope?
You might all think he was heart broken that his brother and sister were gone…that would
be a nice thought..it would,
But no, he was mad and throwing a fit cause he didnt get his own way
What a sight…oh me oh my
Being Three i think must be hard…nnaaaaa

I love how Ian is watching Lennon’s Every
Move…
Don’t want to miss a thing
And then there’s Adia…oh darling sweet Adia
Sometimes i really wonder about these kids
Doesn’t this just make you want to PUSH ‘em over?
Whoops Did i just say that out loud…
Hehe…just kidding, ok well maybe a little
Now dont get me wrong i LOVE my children
Love them more than anything,
BUT some days i feel like i could literally strangle them.
I’m sure every Mom feels this way…at least i hope so,
Or there could be something really wrong with me…maybe
i should go see someone about this…i wonder?
Heres to wishing things could stay sweet and calm and happy
like when they were babies….
(SIDE NOTE) is it wrong to threaten your children with
‘IF you dont stop i will take you out of school and send you to live
with your Grandma and she’ll home school you’????
I wonder again….hhhmmmmm
Oh Gosh darnit…i do love the little buggers
Off into the wild blue yonder
Is this not the cutest little faced you have seen in your life? ok well i am his Mother so of course i would say that.
He is beginning a new chapter of his little life.
Kindergarten!!!!! Sometimes i can’t believe he is five years old already, seems like yesterday he was my chubby, wubby bald headed little man.
He wrote his name for Miss Rollins!!

Here He goes

Boys have such odd ideas for cool backpacks….. I had never even heard of the character on his
Don’t worry he was not crying the sun was in his eyes
What excitment, what joy, oh boy!
It is a beautiful name isnt it? My Mother thought of it
He found his spot on the floor where they do calander time

Do you see that ear??? I want to reach out and nibble it…its just about the cutest ear i have ever seen…really it is. You can ask Lennon and he will say so himself. The funny thing about that cutie ear of his, is that the other one looks nothing like it.
It’s true…it looks like it should be on another little boy…
He has gotten so good at writing his name, Adia taught him…funny huh..i guess it does make my job easier…
Miss Rollins and Lennon
can you guess what their theme is this year? Yupp safari
Man he’s a good looking kid
So serious

He’s my tree hugger
This one turned out SO very cute
A boy and his mommy…there is nothing like it
My dear sweet son i am so excited for him, Starting a new adventure, where i know he’s going to do so well…learn new things. he’s the kinda kid that will influence all those around him for the better…he’s a leader, not one that does things to show off, but is unique in every way.
One thing that he said that was hilarious was, i was sitting with him asking him if he was excited to start school, and telling him he was going to learn how to read..he got a hhmmm kinda look on his face…sat there pondering for a little while then said in an estatic tone…’ then i’ll be able to read my video games’
what ever it takes to make them want to learn huh?
